Unique Identification Authority of India(UIAI)

It is a agency of the Government of India to implement the Multipurpose National Identity Card or Unique Identification Card in India.This agency is headed by the Nandan Nilekani,Former CEO of the Infosys Technologies.

It is believed that Unique National Ids will help address the rigged state elections,poverty alleviation programs.That the plan is for each Indian Citizen to have a Unique Identification Number with asscioted with identifing the PhotoGraph,Biometric data.
As the unique identification card comes into existence,the various identity databases Voter ID,Passports,license,ration cards databases are going to linked.
